Week Five

I am so excited! So, I've made lots of progress with my composition and I'm very close to being finished and getting it reviewed by my mentors! This is great because this means I can start getting conformation from students to perform this piece with me and start lessons and rehearsals.

The other night, I was browsing through all of my old files stored away collecting "dust" in my hard drive. I was so happy to find one of my earlier compositions! That particular piece is for an orchestra so I was thinking I could also spend some time editing that and maybe teach and conduct that piece at an orchestra concert! I am not completely sure as it would be a great challenge, but I'm pretty confident it would be well worth it!

In the mean time, I have started wring a "tiny" pre-performance speech about the value and upmost importance of music education in the public school systems. This is a very crucial point to this project because there is honestly no point in doing this if people don't understand why I am doing it. For the rest of my high school, college, graduate, and professional career, I will continue to fight for the survival of music.
