Week Three
Welcome back! Lately, I have been composing, composing, composing! In fact, I was even composing in the parking lot of a local McDonalds!
As of right now, the foundation and basics of my composition are complete!! With that done, I will now enter the longer part of the composing part of this project. I have to go back through the song and make a countless amount of changes, add more parts to "fill it in", and make it beautiful. Simultaneously, I will start meeting with Mr. Bill and other classmates for peer editing purposes.
For the second phase of this project, I have already got lots of volunteers from friends to participate in the project. These students don't know how to play pitched percussion instruments so it will be extremely fun to be able to teach them and have them perform in the concert. Speaking of concert! My composition will be debuting on June 4th, 2018 at Union-Endicott High School for the band's end of the year concert! I am so excited and can't wait!
CHANGE OF PLANS: So the previous three paragraphs were written about a week ago and I never got around to publishing it. In the long run, I'm extremely happy I didn't. This past week, my grandfather was admitted to the hospital in very poor condition. Because of this, I had to pack up and leave for Rochester, NY for about a week. It was a very emotional, heart-wrenching, and mentally exhausting week for the family. However, because of this, it made me realize something... you never know what is going to happen. So, I've decided to add some unusual and rule breaking aspects to my composition. A lot of things have changed and I can't wait for you to hear it! There will be some cool surprises so mark your calendars for the concert!!
